the Lighthouse is a Christian children's home located in northern Thailand in the San Sai, Chiang Mai area that opened in October, 2009 to serve children in need. From various backgrounds (e.g., orphaned, abandoned, impoverished, etc.) and ethnicities (i.e., Karen or Lahu hill-tribes), the children at the Lighthouse stay onsite for the opportunity to attend school nearby.
 

                                                                                                         
the Lighthouse itself is not a school - it is a children's home that provides spiritual development, encouragement and basic provisions of lodging, meals, transportation to/from the local government school, toiletries, and extra-curricular development such as learning about the Gospel, English, music/guitar, and personal hygiene. 

Currently, there are 14 children, aged 8 - 21 years old, and a part-time steward / caretaker to assist the primary caretakers, Prateep and Terra Yito.
